I adore a well made Mojito, but when I am served a badly made Mojito it makes me sad 🙁 When I heard about Funkin Cocktails and their Mojito cocktail mixer I knew I had to try it. Funkin Cocktails ban all artificial colours, flavours, preservatives and additives from their products, allowing their products to be 100% natural fresh fruit cocktail mixers.
The Mojito cocktail mixer comes in one carton which makes 7 drinks. All you need to add is rum and ice, shake it up and pour over a glass full of ice.
I used a green chilli to rub the rim of the glass – giving it a delicious amount of heat that complimented the natural sweetness of the mixer.
This drink is perfect for serving to friends and is incredibly easy to shake up as the simpleness of Funkin Cocktails allows the process to be fast, easy and delicious. Now I have discovered Funkin Cocktails – there is always time for cocktails!

Every time I make fresh pasta I wonder why I have previously bought the packet stuff.
This fresh pasta is crazy easy to make and takes two mins to cook. You can also decide exactly which fillings you want inside. I chose fresh chilli, Sicilian sundried tomatoes and english farmhouse cheddar.
The recipe is quite rough as I am not one to measure out my ingredients. As I have been cooking for so long I judge it all by eye. All you need is flour, salt and water. That’s it! Mix two handfuls of plain flour and the salt with one glass of tepid water and combine using your hands till the dough is in a smooth ball. Add any extra flour if the dough is too sticky and extra water if the dough is too dry. I use my pasta maker to roll the fresh pasta in to sheets but you can just as easily use a rolling pin – make sure you flour the surfaces and rolling pin first. The pasta sheet should be about 5mm thick. If it’s too thin the pasta can then easily rip and the filling will disperse in the boiling water. If you don’t have a pasta cutter a cookie cutter in a circle or square shape will do. Allow it to be big enough to hold your chosen pasta filling.
It’s a good idea to prep your fillings in advance. Chop the sundried tomatoes and chillis and crumble the cheddar. Once the pasta is cut in to squares or circles you then add the filling then fold the square of circle in half and pinch the top to form what looks like a mini Cornish pasty. It’s very simple and very pretty!
To cook boil the water till it’s bubbling away, add the pasta gently one by one. Cook them for about two minutes each. Remove using a spoon with holes to drain and place directly in to your serving bowl. Drizzle a little of the sundried tomato oil that was in the jar, some toasted pumpkin seeds and pine nuts and add a dash of sea salt.

ELGIN AVENUE BREAKDOWN (REVISITED)
Record Store Day 2015 Release. Double red vinyl. ‘Elgin Avenue Breakdown’ was a compilation album of the band’s recordings originally released in 1981 because of The Clash’s popularity. Based on the CD re-issue by EMI in 2005 with liners by Allan Jones and detailed notes on each track by the band’s drummer Richard Dudanski. This album was previously available on CD but not on vinyl. The 101ers were a pub rock band from the 1970s, notable as being the band that Joe Strummer left to join The Clash. The group played at free festivals, such as Stonehenge, and established itself on the London pub rock circuit prior to the advent of punk. Formed in May 1974, they made their performing debut under the name El Huaso and the 101 All Stars. The name eventually shortened to 101ers. This collection features the demos, studio recordings, BBC sessions, and live audience tapes.

I am a huge fan of Rimmel nail polishes – especially the polishes that dry in 60 seconds. The one feature that really attracts me to them is the curved-edge brush. Unlike square-edged brushes, the curve allows for the brush to cover the whole nail without need for correction. Rimmel X Rita Ora have launched a range of 12 nail polishes that are perfect for the summer and dry win 60 seconds.
I decided to try “Glaston Berry” as I am a sucker for bright coral shades. Also I loved the name! The 8ml bottle cost £2.99 in Boots. I love the 1960s style daisies on the brush it reminded me a lot of vintage Mary Quant cosmetics.
Once applied, the polish dried in approximately one minute. I only used one coat and then one layer of top coat. The colour came out very evenly and was thick enough to use as one coat. This is great for anyone who’s in a hurry when it comes to beauty. It’s also fab for popping in your make-up bag and using to cover chips. Grab yourself a bottle for summer! xx
One of my favourite beauty brands – MUA aka Make Up Academy has released a nail polish shade called Orchid. It is a pinky mauve that I am finding quite hard to chip. I have tried so many different nail polishes and this little beauty is proving the best. I have been wearing it for 4 days and so far no cracks! It’s officially a record! And what’s the cherry on this cake? It’s only £1. Go and stock up now ladies!
LONDON, UK London’s hottest milliner, Alexandra Harper Millinery announces third Disney collaboration to tie in with the release of the latest silver screen adaptation of Cinderella, set to premiere in UK cinemas on the 19th March. Harper has designed an enchanting micro range of headpieces as part of an on-going partnership with the world famous film company, capturing the magic of the well-thumbed childhood classic through an abundance of Swarovski crystals, silk and feathers.
Women and children alike have coveted the timeless beauty of Cinderella’s iconic ball gown since the early 17th century. Instilled with just the right amount of fashion, Harper’s expertise and craftsmanship encapsulate the story to perfection in five statement headpieces. A mass of blue-hued butterfly wings flutter on a standout headpiece, ‘Ella’s Enchantment.’ Delicate Swarovski crystals and veiling adorn ‘Ella’s Innocence’ – a trademark, oversized blue silk bow. White hand-tooled silk leaves interspersed with carefully placed Swarovski crystals crown ‘Ella’s Perfect Ending’ – a small headpiece while swathes of pale pink flowers and coque feathers explode atop ‘Ella’s Garden’ – a mini silk pillbox. Tufts of tulle add a touch of finesse to ‘Ella’s Night’ – a clear, blue and iridescent beaded coronet encrusted with Swarovski crystals.
Disney has enlisted some of the world’s most prestigious accessory designers to capture the grace of the new film featuring Lily James and Cate Blanchett as the lead stars. Harper sits in good company alongside Jimmy Choo, Nicholas Kirkwood, Alexandre Birman and Charlotte Olympia.
“It’s amazing to be able to dream up a collection fit for a princess, especially one as iconic as Cinderella,” explains Harper. “Working with Disney over the last year has been a wonderful opportunity.”
Alexandra has and will produce several collections for Disney over a two-year period. The first was a collection inspired by ‘Maleficent,’ starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning. The second was centered around Tinker Bell.
On Saturday we went to The Classic Carboot Sale at Southbank. It was a great day out with DJs spinning records, a craft beer bus, loads of vintage goodies and fab retro homeware. The fella bought another Gabicci knitted shirt for his collection, I was the most controlled I have ever been and did not buy anything! Although, it was REALLY hard not to. The location was fantastic as it was right on the Thames. I would be browsing a rack of 1960s shift dresses and the London Eye would be in the background. I would’ve spent all day there if I could’ve and now I’ve been to one I’ll keep my eye out for the next.

The summer’s coming up I can’t wait to have some fun with summer braiding, pastel shades and beach waves. This will be the first summer I have had long hair for 4 years as I chopped it all off after a frustrating dreadlock situation at Bestival. I rocked my peroxide bob to the max for years then decided it was time to let it grow, give it a rest from the bleach and a break from the heat styling instruments. My hair has grown so fast since I begun taking care of it. I know lots of you are hunting for tips so I thought I’d share mine. First I will give a few tips on growing out your bob. Then I will give my tips on how to grow your hair healthier and faster.
Bye Bye Bob: I had a really short bob that was white blonde. My hair is now long and a more natural blonde with white blonde highlights. The first step of growing out your bob is to kick the habit of having it maintained and look at hairstyles that are two inches than what you currently have. Try researching lob cut, lob hair style. This will instantly give you something to aim for. Leave the tongs to hibernate and start using V05 hot oil or coconut oil on your hair. Rub a pea sized amount in your palm then massage it in when your hair is towel dry. If you have bleached hair make sure you massage it in to the ends. Snap up a kids no tangles spray in conditioner too. This will help when you brush your hair after the shower. Do not cut your hair for about three months, by this point using no heat will have protected your hair enough for it to not need trimming. Style your hair towards the lob style and by the three month mark you will have reached that desired look. If you’re getting bored of waiting for longer hair, experiment with a fringe, or your hair colour. Patience is a virtue! Follow my tips of how to grow healthy hair faster once you reach this stage.
How To Grow Your Hair Faster And Healthier: I am going to give my tips in short points below as I know I rambled a bit above!
DROP THE TONGS! Do you want dry, frazzled, product filled hair that’s going to snap off? OH HELL NO! From now on it’s no more straighteners, tongs, curlers, hair dryers, crimpers etc. It’s back to old-school sleeping in plaits, rag curls and tying a loose bun in towel dry hair. TRUST ME – you will see a speedy improvement in your hair after about a week.
MIND HOW YOU BRUSH YOUR HAIR: It might sound silly that something that seems so insignificant could really make a different, but yeah it does and it makes a big difference. Invest in a brush that cares for your hair. I recommend the “maxi-phine taming brush” by Kent Brushes. It’s a fantastic quality hairbrush and a great price at only £10.

Never brush your hair straight from the shower. Towel dry it, then spray with a tangle free leave in conditioner. I am currently using Schwarzkopf Supersoft Kids Detangling Spray. Ok, yes I know it’s for kids. But it does the trick – no knots, no broken hair, no ripped ends – and yup it smells great too! AND you can pick it up in Poundland. Everyone loves a bargain!
It does the trick and smells great!
3. LET’S GO COCO! Coconut oil is not only great for your diet, it’s also great for your hair, skin and nails. Take a soft pea sized amount, rub it in your palm and massage in to the ends of your hair. Then let your hair dry naturally.
4. DIET FOR HEALTHY HAIR: I don’t mean stick to rabbit food but by including more foods with healthy fat content such as avocado, salmon, walnuts, eggs, lentils, wholegrains and foods rich in iron you can really make a difference to your locks. Iron is REALLY important for hair growth as it helps carry oxygen to the hair follicles. Eating too little iron can cause hair loss. True fact!
